It's not a nashi....

Well, my Dad emailed me excitedly the other day. In his lunch room they provide fruit daily, and on this day there was a strange type of fruit in the bowl. It was the size of an onion, and it was 'half-pear, half-apple', but NOT a nashi! He reported that it tasted like pear, with a hint of apple flavour.

We do of course know though that nashis are not in fact a cross between an apple and a pear. This is a myth, however we do take advantage of it!

  2. Thanks Ruki, so it is called a Paradise Pear, I was wondering what it was.
And er... Miss Teacher Ta, the plural of nashi is nashis, not nashi's. Anyway a common mistake of Gen X, Gen Y. But one never made by Baby Boomers. x

  3. I am actually really ashamed of myself! I am very good at complaining when other people misuse the apostrophe. I hang my head in shame....;)

Thank you Ruki for clearing up the identity of the 'mystery fruit'!
